چکیده
Abstract Observations of the magnetic field B in very local interstellar medium (VLISM) were made by Voyager 1 (V1) northern hemisphere from 2012 to mid-2021 and 2 (V2) southern 2018 through 2020. Near 2019.4, V2 observed an abrupt increase associated with a pressure front near heliopause. During 2020, at jump that was preceded electron plasma oscillations cosmic rays, indicating it shock. The shock followed decrease ending ?50 days later. large-scale waves all three components , before after largest- intermediate-amplitude BN BR component, respectively, predominantly transverse several au It shown previously heliopause longitudinal V1 V2. Thus, mode transformation process within 10 hemisphere, like hemisphere. elevation azimuthal angles varied linearly increasing distance VLISM. jumps two shocks front, each ramp. also fourth 2020.4, but continued until least year 2021.5. This long-lasting not anticipated.

The Local Interstellar Medium
Substantial progress in the field of the Local Interstellar Medium has been largely due to recent launches of space missions, mostly in the UV and X–ray domains, but also to ground-based observations, mainly in high resolution spectroscopy. However, a clear gap seems to remain between the wealth of new data and the theoretical understanding. This paper gives an overview of some observational as...
متن کاملThe Local Interstellar Medium
The Local Interstellar Medium (LISM) is a unique environment that presents an opportunity to study general interstellar phenomena in great detail and in three dimensions. In particular, high resolution optical and ultraviolet spectroscopy have proven to be powerful tools for addressing fundamental questions concerning the physical conditions and three-dimensional (3D) morphology of this local m...
متن کاملGalactic Cosmic Rays in the Local Interstellar Medium: Voyager 1 Observations and Model Results
Since 2012 August Voyager 1 has been observing the local interstellar energy spectra of Galactic cosmic-ray nuclei down to 3MeV nuc and electrons down to 2.7 MeV. The H and He spectra have the same energy dependence between 3 and 346MeV nuc, with a broad maximum in the 10–50MeV nuc range and a H/He ratio of 12.2 ± 0.9. The peak H intensity is ∼15 times that observed at 1 AU, and the observed lo...
متن کاملConfronting Observations and Modeling: The Role of the Interstellar Magnetic Field in Voyager 1 and 2 Asymmetries
Magnetic effects are ubiquitous and known to be crucial in space physics and astrophysical media. We have now the opportunity to probe these effects in the outer heliosphere with the two spacecraft Voyager 1 and 2. Voyager 1 crossed, in December 2004, the termination shock and is now in the heliosheath. On August 30, 2007 Voyager 2 crossed the termination shock, providing us for the first time ...
متن کاملThe orientation of the local interstellar magnetic field.
The orientation of the local interstellar magnetic field introduces asymmetries in the heliosphere that affect the location of heliospheric radio emissions and the streaming direction of ions from the termination shock of the solar wind. We combined observations of radio emissions and energetic particle streaming with extensive three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic computer simulations of magne...
