This paper deals with the concepts of magic, conversion to Christianity, and prayer in Shakespeare’s play The Tempest . Employing New Historicism using Christian writings, it analyses Prospero’s conversion, which have so far been neglected by scholars favor juxtaposes them magic. reading supports underrepresented view magic as heretical punishable, suggests that abjuration is comparable deliverance from occult reveals first interpretation prayer.
