Macrozoobenthos Structure and Dynamics in a Mediterranean Hypersaline Ecosystem with Implications for Wetland Conservation

چکیده
Within the framework of hypersaline environments, Saline di Tarquinia salterns (Latium, Italy) represent an interesting case study from ecological, naturalistic, and conservationist perspectives. We studied macrozoobenthic community zonation related to main environmental parameters, with particular emphasis on beetle species Nebrioporus ceresyi (Aubé, 1836), one few Dytiscidae among Italian fauna particularly adapted brackish waters. In this study, we report structure seasonal dynamics community, spatial temporal distribution both larvae adults N. ceresyi, size–frequency larvae. The results add new information assemblage life cycle water in habitat. A possible hypothesis about discontinuous geographical investigated is also provided. Finally, proposed as indicator useful characterizing habitats.

this study intends to investigate samuel beckett’s waiting for godot and endgame under the lacanian psychoanalysis. it begins by explaining the most important concepts of lacanian psychoanalysis. the beckettian characters are studied regarding their state of unconscious, and not the state of consciousness as is common in most beckett studies. according to lacan, language plays the sole role in ...
Research Article: Trophic dynamics analysis and ecosystem structure for some fish species of northern Oman Sea
In the present study, a trophic structure model for some fish species of the northern Oman Sea is developed through using mass balance modeling software, Ecopath with Ecosim (EwE). In this model, we simulated 16 functional groups spread across an area of 3998.20 km2 from 2017 to 2018. Mean trophic level in the area of the present study was 3.49. Values calculated for system omnivory and connect...
متن کاملAgricultural conservation practices and wetland ecosystem services in the wetland-rich Piedmont-Coastal Plain region
In the eastern U.S. Coastal Plain and Piedmont region, diverse inland wetlands (riverine, depressional, wet flats) have been impacted by or converted to agriculture. Farm Bill conservation practices that restore or enhance wetlands can return their ecological functions and services to the agricultural landscape. We review the extent of regional knowledge regarding the effectiveness of these con...
متن کاملRemarkable amphibian biomass and abundance in an isolated wetland: implications for wetland conservation.
Despite the continuing loss of wetland habitats and associated declines in amphibian populations, attempts to translate wetland losses into measurable losses to ecosystems have been lacking. We estimated the potential productivity from the amphibian community that would be compromised by the loss of a single isolated wetland that has been protected from most industrial, agricultural, and urban ...
متن کاملCommunity structure of fishes inhabiting aquatic refuges in a threatened Karst wetland and its implications for ecosystem management
We illustrate the importance of subsurface refuges for conservation of aquatic fauna with our studies of karstic wetlands in Everglades National Park, Florida, USA. Managers have proposed that water levels there should not fall more than 46 cm below ground level for more than 90 days annually. In four areas, 84% of solution holes were less than 46 cm deep and holes deeper than 1m were rare (<3 ...
