Macronutrient Fertility on an Irrigated Corn/Soybean in Rotation

نویسندگان

چکیده

Effects of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) fertilization on a corn/soybean cropping sequence were evaluated from 2013 to 2020 (corn planted in odd years) study initiated 1983. Corn yield was near optimum at 160 lb/a N. Phosphorus K alone increased corn 31 7 bu/a, respectively; soybean yields 22 1.7 respectively. As N increased, the response P 13 40 bu/a. The best return fertilizer investment when needs met for both crops.

Reduced Tillage in an Irrigated Potato Rotation

Soil erosion continues to be a threat to agricultural productivity worldwide, with soil losses in the United States exceeding 3 billion tons annually. Wind and water erosion have caused dramatic declines in soil productivity. Erosion protection and associated conservation of nutrients, organic matter, soil water holding capacity and biota are significant concerns. Pimentel et al. (1995) estimat...

Crop rotation and tillage effects on selected soil physical properties of a Typic Haploxerert in an irrigated semi-arid Mediterranean region

Physical, chemical and biological attributes of soil surface are significantly affected by tillage practices and crop rotation. The objective of this study was to determine the short-term (2006-2009) effects of conventional and conservational tillage practices on selected soil physical properties of a heavy clay soil under two wheat-corn and wheatlegume rotation in a semi-arid Mediterranean...

Chloride and sodium uptake potential over an entire rotation of Populus irrigated with landfill leachate.

There is a need for information about the response of Populus genotypes to repeated application of high-salinity water and nutrient sources throughout an entire rotation. We have combined establishment biomass and uptake data with mid- and full-rotation growth data to project potential chloride (Cl-) and sodium (Na+) uptake for 2- to 11-year-old Populus in the north central United States. Our o...
