Machine Learning for Modeling Wildfire Susceptibility at the State Level: An Example from Arkansas, USA

چکیده
Fire susceptibility modeling is crucial for sustaining and managing forests among many other valuable land resources. With 56% of its area covered by forests, Arkansas known as the “natural state”. About 1000 wildfires occurred burned more than 10,000 acres each year during 1981–2018. In this paper, we use remote-sensing-based machine learning methods to address natural anthropogenic factors influencing model fire in Arkansas. Among 15 explored variables, potential evapotranspiration, soil moisture, Palmer drought severity index, dry season precipitation were recognized most significant contributing density. The obtained R-squared values are significant, with 0.99 training 0.92 validation. results show that Ouachita National Forest Ozark Forest, west-central west Arkansas, respectively, have highest wildfires. southern part has low-to-moderate susceptibility, while eastern state lowest susceptibility. These new demonstrate potency random forest predicting at level can be adapted study fires states help preparedness reduce loss save precious environment.

in the area of automotive engineering there is a tendency to more electrification of power train. in this work control of an induction machine for the application of electric vehicle is investigated. through the changing operating point of the machine, adapting the rotor magnetization current seems to be useful to increase the machines efficiency. in the literature there are many approaches wh...

We have constructed a learning agent that models student behavior at a high level of granularity for a mathematics tutor. Rather than focusing on whether the student knows a particular piece of knowledge, the learning agent determines how likely the student is to answer a problem correctly and how long he will take to generate this response. To construct this model, we used traces from previous...
متن کاملMan-machine Interface for Remote Programming and Control of Nc Machine Tools at the Task Level: an Example
This paper presents an example of Man-Machine Interface for remote programming and control of NC machine tools. The system is based on a computer virtual panel which substitutes the machine control panel and in telematics interfaces which establishes the basis for geographical independence between the physical equipment and human operator.
