Machinability investigation of polymer/GNP nanocomposites in micro-milling

Abstract Nanoparticles such as graphene have been added to various polymer matrices enhance the mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties of materials that require complex designs on a microscopic scale. Micro-machining is used process these nanocomposite achieve high surface quality dimensional accuracy while maintaining productivity. In this study, systematic micro-milling experiment was performed polymer/graphene nanoplatelet (GNP) nanocomposites advance knowledge micro-machinability materials. It evaluates effect addition 0.1wt% GNP nanoparticles machined morphology, chip formation, cutting forces, tool wear. found changes slot edge formation mode from burring chipping mode.
