چکیده

Low back pain (LBP) is the most frequent cause of adult disability. One main reasons can be a herniated disc (lumbar herniation—LDH), potentially disturbing spinal movement patterns. Its influence on gait and lumbopelvic biomechanics still remains unclear. Little to no evidence was found kinematics in young LDH adults. The purpose this study analyze individuals with lumbar herniation diagnosed by MRI. Forty-three participants (18–35 years) were divided into two groups: an group (n = 19) control 24). All underwent dynamic measures G-Walk wearable device 6-m walking test (6MWT). Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) questionnaire used for subjective disability assessment. showed higher speed (p 0.02), lower symmetry pelvis tilt 0.01), rotation 0.04) compared healthy controls. Correlation calculations significance between obliquity (r 0.53) but only shows differences index parameters In conclusion, affects kinematics, causing three-dimensional disorders lack synergy. This probably due avoidance behaviors compensation mechanisms adjacent body region.

In Vitro Biomechanics of Lumbar Disc Arthroplasty with the Prodisc Total Disc Implant

An alternative approach to lumbar fusion surgery is to restore motion to the diseased segment with a disc prosthesis. The goal of the disc prosthesis is to replace the diseased disc while preserving and/or restoring the motion at the operated spinal level. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of the PRODISC® (Spine Solutions Inc., Paoli, PA) disc prosthesis to restore lumbar s...

Prevalence and Severity of Preoperative Disabilities in Iranian Patients with Lumbar Disc Herniation

Background: Literature recommends that refractory cases with lumbar disc herniation and appropriate indications are better to be treated surgically, but do all the patients throughout the world consent to the surgery with a same disability and pain threshold? We aim to elucidate the prevalence and severity of disabilities and pain in Iranian patients with lumbar disc herniation who have conse...
