Ludic Adaptation: Can We Babyfy, Chibify, Bambify, or Cherubify a Literary Text for Younger Audiences?

Studies on adaptation for younger audiences tend to mull over around the film of children classics. Adaptation textual, visual, and operative elements in context literary texts with ergodicity like apps, comics, animation films, games is understudied. This case study based descriptive qualitative aims at exploring investigating phenomenon how this exercised. employs Siddharthan’s text simplification, Genette’s hypertextuality, Nikolajeva’s Barthesian proairetic decoding audiences, Huizinga’s play-function play-mood address language aspects ludic adaptation, Aarseth’s ergodic literature Sander’s aspects, Rajewsky’s intermediality medial aspects. Drawing upon theories employing Spradleyan analysis, we argue that best termed an aimed establishing a playful communication involving adjustments through transmodalization, transstylization, transformation source texts.
