<em>Allium cepa </em>L. (Onion) Storage Diseases and Effect of <em>Trichoderma asperellum </em>and <em>Trichoderma virens </em>Pre-harvest Treatments on Postharvest Quality

Substantial yield losses have been reported during the storage of Allium cepa L., and effective methods to minimize postharvest are currently lacking. Therefore objectives this study were investigate impact pre-treatment with Trichoderma asperellum virens on post-harvest evaluate factors associated these losses. The behaviors L. bulbs after different field treatments spp. examined using a complete randomized design. common onion bulb diseases encountered basal rot black mould diseases, Fusarium sp., Mucor Penicillium Aspergillus niger flavus being diseased bulbs. results regarding percentage showed that pre-harvest did not significant effect disease control storage. Furthermore, onions attributed sprouting, rooting wilting, which exacerbated by prevailing temperature (~30-32°C) relative humidity (~77%-79%) period.
