Low-temperature thermal conductivity of thermoelectric Co1?M Si (M = Fe, Ni) alloys

We study the low-temperature electrical and thermal conductivity of CoSi Co 1? x M Si alloys (M = Fe, Ni; ? 0.06). Measurements show that Fe decreases at > 0.01 by an order magnitude compared with pure CoSi. It was expected both lattice electronic contributions to would decrease in alloys. However, our experimental results revealed temperatures below 20 K, Fe- Ni-containing is several times larger than discuss possible mechanisms enhancement. The most probable one dominant scattering phonons charge carriers. propose a simple theoretical model takes into account complex semimetallic structure nonequivalent carrier pockets. This explains well increase increasing disorder linear temperature dependence K. • Electrical resistivity 1-x very large Low-temperature higher Ineffectiveness phonon–electron interaction disordered discussed. Phonon relaxation because interband electron transitions band calculated.
