Sintered hydroxyapatite ceramic for wear studies.
A sintered hydroxyapatite (HAP) ceramic for use in wear studies was prepared from a commercial tricalcium phosphate. The sintered HAP had physical properties close to those of human enamel. The coefficient of friction and wear of the sintered HAP ceramic as characterized by tangential force, track width, and surface failure data, approximated those of human enamel.
متن کاملPhase and Microstructural Correlation of Spark Plasma Sintered HfB2-ZrB2 Based Ultra-High Temperature Ceramic Composites
Abstract: The refractory diborides (HfB2 and ZrB2) are considered as promising ultra-high temperature ceramic (UHTCs) where low damage tolerance limits their application for the thermal protection system in re-entry vehicles. In this regard, SiC and CNT have been synergistically added as the sintering aids and toughening agents in the spark plasma sintered (SPS) HfB2-ZrB2 system. Herein, a nove...
متن کاملA Low Temperature Sensitivity Switched-Capacitor Current Reference
A current reference with low temperature sensitivity based on a switched-capacitor technique has been developed. The implementation is targeted for a 0.18μ CMOS process. HSPICE simulations using level 49 models valid over a wide temperature range were used to verify the design. The simulation results predict variations of less than 0.029% over a temperature range of –40 °C to 125 °C.
متن کاملPrognostics of ceramic capacitor temperature-humidity-bias reliability using Mahalanobis distance analysis
Purpose – This paper seeks to present a prognostics approach using the Mahalanobis distance (MD) method to predict the reliability of multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) in temperature-humidity-bias (THB) conditions. Design/methodology/approach – Data collected during THB testing of 96 MLCCs were analyzed using the MD method. In the THB tests, three parameters (capacitance (C), dissipation fa...
متن کاملStructural and Electrical Characterization of Sintered Silicon Nitride Ceramic
The electrical conduction phenomena, dielectric response and microstructure have been discussed in sintered silicon nitride ceramics at different temperature and frequencies. Microstructure and phase of the sintered samples was investigated by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffractometer (XRD). The electrical conductivity, dielectric constant and dielectric loss increases exponen...
