Low regularity extensions beyond Cauchy horizons

چکیده
Abstract We prove that if in a C 0 spacetime complete partial Cauchy hypersurface has non-empty horizon, then the horizon is caused by presence of almost closed causal curves behind it or influence points at infinity. This statement related to strong cosmic censorship and conjecture Wald. In this light, Wald’s can be formulated as PDE problem about location horizons inside black hole interiors.

A remark on differentiability of Cauchy horizons
In a recent paper Królak and Beem (1998 J. Math. Phys. at press) have shown differentiability of Cauchy horizons at all points of multiplicity one. In this note we give a simpler proof of this result. PACS numbers: 0420C, 0420G
متن کاملOn the differentiability of Cauchy horizons
Chruściel and Galloway constructed a Cauchy horizon that is nondifferentiable on a dense set. We prove that in a certain class of Cauchy horizons densely nondifferentiable Cauchy horizons are generic. We show that our class of densely nondifferentiable Cauchy horizons implies the existence of densely nondifferentiable Cauchy horizons arising from partial Cauchy surfaces and also the existence o...
متن کاملCauchy horizons in Gowdy space times
We analyse exhaustively the structure of non-degenerate Cauchy horizons in Gowdy space-times, and we establish existence of a large class of non-polarized Gowdy space-times with such horizons. Added in proof: Our results here, together with deep new results of H. Ringström (talk at the Miami Waves conference, January 2004), establish strong cosmic censorship in (toroidal) Gowdy space-times.
متن کاملCauchy–davenport Theorem in Group Extensions
Let A and B be nonempty subsets of a finite group G in which the order of the smallest nonzero subgroup is not smaller than d = |A| + |B| − 1. Then at least d different elements of G has a representation in the form ab, where a ∈ A and b ∈ B. This extends a classical theorem of Cauchy and Davenport to noncommutative groups. We also generalize Vosper’s inverse theorem in the same spirit, giving ...

Moreover, for all values of z within a region T which does not cut or touch the positive half of the real axis we shall have — TT < <£ + TT < TT, provided we agree to choose at every £oint so that — 2TT < < 0. I t follows, upon introducing (6), that when the above agreements are made we may always choose e so small that the improper integral in (7) will converge uniformly for all values...
