Low Nitrogen Stress Promotes Root Nitrogen Uptake and Assimilation in Strawberry: Contribution of Hormone Networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
Low nitrogen stress severely impedes crop growth and productivity. There has been substantial research on root adaptation to low conditions in many plant species. However, the mechanism underlying morphological response of strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa Duch.) low-NO3− or low-NH4+ remains poorly understood. Strawberry plants were hydroponically cultivated under 1 mM NO3−, NH4+, control (15 NO3−) assess physiological responses their roots stress. As a result, stresses increased fresh weight root, lateral density, surface area, as well enhanced accumulation indole-3-acetic acid jasmonic while significantly reducing salicylic roots. Correspondingly, PM H+-ATPase activity. Low-NO3− activities nitrate reductase glutamine synthetase, whereas treatment led higher synthetase glutamate synthase activities. Collectively, present results demonstrate that enhance uptake by regulating hormones (indole-3-acetic acid, acid) thereby mediating activity, promoting metabolism upregulating reductase, synthase. In conclusion, may facilitate more efficient acquisition available N from soil system.

Nitrogen assimilation and nitrogen control in cyanobacteria.
Nitrogen sources commonly used by cyanobacteria include ammonium, nitrate, nitrite, urea and atmospheric N(2), and some cyanobacteria can also assimilate arginine or glutamine. ABC (ATP-binding cassette)-type permeases are involved in the uptake of nitrate/nitrite, urea and most amino acids, whereas secondary transporters take up ammonium and, in some strains, nitrate/nitrite. In cyanobacteria,...
متن کاملStudy of genetic diversity in bread wheat germplasm using nitrogen uptake and nitrogen use efficiency characteristics
In order to evaluate the traits related to nitrogen utilization and to identify the superior genotypes, 33 bread wheat landraces along three check cultivars of Chamran and Koohdasht (from Iran) and Gobustan (from the Republic of Azerbaijan) were studied in simple lattice statistical design with two replications under two treatments of non-usage and application of 200 kg/ha ammonium nitrate fert...
متن کاملYield and nitrogen leaching in maize field under different nitrogen rates and partial root drying irrigation
Irrigation water is limiting for crop production in arid and semi-arid areas. Furthermore, excess nitrogen (N) application is a source of groundwater contamination. Partial root drying irrigation (PRD) can be used as water saving technique and a controlling measure of groundwater N contamination. The objectives of this investigation were to evaluate the effect of ordinary furrow irrigation (OFI...
متن کاملCultivar Differences in Root Nitrogen Uptake Ability of Maize Hybrids
Although, considerable differences in root size in response to nitrogen (N) application among crop species and cultivars have been widely reported, there has been limited focus on the differences in root N uptake ability. In this study, two maize (Zea mays L.) hybrids, Zhenghong 311 (ZH 311, N-efficient) and Xianyu 508 (XY 508, N-inefficient), were used to compare differences in root N uptake a...
متن کاملIdentification of soybean circular RNAs in response to low nitrogen and phosphorus stress
Soybean, one of the most important sources of edible oil and protein in the world, is exposed to various environmental biotic and abiotic stresses. These stresses can negatively impact the quality and quantity of soybean production. This study aimed to identify genes that express circular RNAs in response to low phosphorus and nitrogen stresses in soybean roots. Soybean seeds were grown under d...
