چکیده

ABSTRACT Salt stress is a major production constraint in wheat. The maintenance of low Na+ accumulation the leaves may improve tissue tolerance against salt stress. A field experiment was conducted to discriminate twenty wheat genotypes, based on leaf as criterion for tolerance, and evaluate effect sodium biomass production, physiological yield traits genotypes grown saline-sodic environment. concentration determined young fully expanded at vegetative growth stage. were categorized into two contrasting groups (with high content), randomized complete block design, with three replications. (V-03094, V-02156, TURACO, V0005 PVN) showed much longer chlorophyll retention, K+ content, proline phenolic contents than genotypes. effects components also less content greater grain accumulating due enhanced number weight their tillers, which strongly associated higher efflux from leaves. accumulator improved seedling emergence (%) soil.

Saline/Sodic sub-soil on triticale, durum wheat and bread wheat yield under irrigated conditions

Sub-soil (> 30 cm) salinity and sodicity is a growing problem particularly in irrigated agricultural areas with rising water tables, poor water quality and/or deficient soil drainage. There were two objectives in this study; (1) to quantify the effect of sub-soil salinity and sodicity in grain yield of triticale, bread wheat and durum wheat and, (2) to determine if genotypes within and between ...

Genetic Diversity in Barley and Wheat for Tolerance to Soil Constraints

Surface soil sodicity as well as subsoil salinity, acidity, and phytotoxic concentrations of chloride (Cl) are major soil constraints to crop production in many soils of sub-tropical, north-eastern Australia. The identification of genotypes tolerant to these soil constraints may be an option to maintain and improve productivity on these soils. We evaluated performance of 11 barley and 17 wheat ...

Study of Grain Yield and Agro-Physiological Characteristics of Some Promising Rainfed Bread Wheat Genotypes under No-Till Condition

In order to evaluate the productivity potential of some bread wheat varieties and promising lines under no-till rainfed condition two different on-farm trials were conducted in cold (Sonqor) and warm (Sarpol-e Zahab) regions of Kermanshah province during 2017-18 cropping season. In the cold condition, 12 winter genotypes and in the warm condition 32 spring genotypes were evaluated for grain ...

Breeding Value of Primary Synthetic Wheat Genotypes for Grain Yield

To introduce new genetic diversity into the bread wheat gene pool from its progenitor, Aegilops tauschii (Coss.) Schmalh, 33 primary synthetic hexaploid wheat genotypes (SYN) were crossed to 20 spring bread wheat (BW) cultivars at the International Wheat and Maize Improvement Center. Modified single seed descent was used to develop 97 populations with 50 individuals per population using first b...
