Low Concentration and High Transparency Keratin Hydrogel Fabricated via Cryoablation

Keratins are highly attractive for medical applications due to their inherent self-assemblies characteristics and biocompatibility. However, nearly all researches have focused on the properties of hybrid hydrogels which was prepared from human hair keratin with other materials, preparation methods pure rarely studied. Thus, we extracted keratins rabbit hair, a low concentration high purity RHK hydrogel then by simple freeze–thaw cycle used study gelation optical properties. The results indicated that is reversible thixotropic system elastic modulus storage (G′) substantially improves cycles. systematic assessments including microstructural observation, porosity, secondary structure confirmed can be changed controlling Meanwhile, it found had transmittance, still maintained its fluorescent properties, would useful observe wound healing locate drug delivery process.
