چکیده
Metalated phthalocyanines (Pc's) are robust and versatile molecular complexes, whose properties can be tuned by changing their functional groups central metal atom. The electronic structure of magnesium Pc (MgPc) - structurally electronically similar to chlorophyll adsorbed on the Ag(100) surface is investigated low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) spectroscopy (STS), non-contact atomic force (ncAFM) density theory (DFT). Single, isolated MgPc's exhibit a flat, four-fold rotationally symmetric morphology, with doubly degenerate, partially populated (due surface-to-molecule electron transfer) lowest unoccupied orbitals (LUMOs). In contrast, neighbouring molecules in proximity undergo lift LUMOs degeneracy, near-Fermi local states reduced two-fold rotational symmetry, indicative long-range attractive intermolecular interaction. latter assigned surface-mediated two-step hybridization process. First, interact conduction electrons, forming hybrid molecule-surface enhanced spatial extension. Then, these delocalized further hybridize those molecules. This work highlights how adsorbates including orbital degeneracies symmetries significantly altered via hybridization, over extended distances (beyond 3 nm), having important implications for prospects molecule-based solid-state technologies.

Impact of longrange correlations on trend detection in total ozone
[1] Total ozone trends are typically studied using linear regression models that assume a first-order autoregression of the residuals [so-called AR(1) models]. We consider total ozone time series over 60 S–60 N from 1979 to 2005 and show that most latitude bands exhibit long-range correlated (LRC) behavior, meaning that ozone autocorrelation functions decay by a power law rather than exponentia...
متن کاملProcesses influencing ozone levels in Alaskan forest fire plumes during longrange transport over the North Atlantic
[1] A case of long-range transport of a biomass burning plume from Alaska to Europe is analyzed using a Lagrangian approach. This plume was sampled several times in the free troposphere over North America, the North Atlantic and Europe by three different aircraft during the IGAC Lagrangian 2K4 experiment which was part of the ICARTT/ ITOP measurement intensive in summer 2004. Measurements in th...

Reticulate evolution is a fundamental process in the evolution of certain groups of taxa. Consequently, conflicting signals in a data set may not be the result of sampling or modelling errors, but due to the fact that reticulation has played a role in the evolutionary history of the species under consideration. However, despite its occurrence, such processes are still relatively rare, and so, a...
