Longitudinal strain analysis in asphalt pavement under full-scale moving loads

چکیده

T The roadway networks have been played a vital role in the development of all countries. assessments pavement conditions during their service life are therefore decisive to maintain stable performance network. From this point view, instrumentation allows monitoring continuously and without traffic interruption. study aims illustrate effectiveness embedded strain gauges temperature probes follow responses with different speeds, loads conditions. longitudinal signals then examined regards representative parameters loading times amplitude. results show that load levels asphalt directly responsible for change amplitudes, while those almost no impact on times. Numerical simulations also introduced validate applicability both layered elastic viscoelastic models observed field.

Analysis of a Beam under Moving Loads

Abstract: It is assumed that a beam made of material has a physical nonlinear behavior. This beam is analyzed under the moving concentrated and distributed continuous loads. The vibration equations of motion are derived from the Hamilton's Principle and Euler–Lagrange Equation. In this study, the amplitude of vibration, circular frequency, bending moment, stress and deflection of the beam has b...

Effect of Failure Criteria on Stress and Strain Analysis of Asphalt Pavement in Tropical Areas

A review of pavement thickness designs shows that two kinds of failure criteria are used in most cases. They are: 1) The tension strain under the asphalt layer that causes cracking and 2) the vertical compression strain on the sub-grade that causes deflection. In this study, various factors affecting thickness design are first defined and more than 216 pavement conditions are introduced. Struc...

Thermal Stability Analysis under Embankment with Asphalt Pavement and Cement Pavement in Permafrost Regions

The permafrost degradation is the fundamental cause generating embankment diseases and pavement diseases in permafrost region while the permafrost degradation is related with temperature. Based on the field monitoring results of ground temperature along G214 Highway in high temperature permafrost regions, both the ground temperatures in superficial layer and the annual average temperatures unde...

Full scale demonstration of air-purifying pavement.

Experiments concerning a full-scale demonstration of air purifying pavement in Hengelo, The Netherlands, are reported. The full width of the street was provided with concrete pavement containing TiO₂ over a length of 150 m ("DeNOx street"). Another part of the street, about 100 m, was paved with normal paving blocks ("Control street"). The outdoor monitoring was done during 26 days for a period...
