Towards Integrated Continuous-Flow Chemical Reactors
A device for rapid mixing of two solutions is presented. As the main mechanism for mixing is diffusional mass transport, the ̄ow has to be split into several laminae which are narrower than the capillary width. Complete mixing is achieved within a few seconds in a ̄ow-through device with a channel system that is 600mm wide at its narrowest spot.
متن کاملStrategic Application of Residence-Time Control in Continuous-Flow Reactors
As a sustainable alternative for conventional batch-based synthetic techniques, the concept of continuous-flow processing has emerged in the synthesis of fine chemicals. Systematic tuning of the residence time, a key parameter of continuous-reaction technology, can govern the outcome of a chemical reaction by determining the reaction rate and the conversion and by influencing the product select...
متن کاملDiels–Alder reactions of myrcene using intensified continuous-flow reactors
This work describes the Diels-Alder reaction of the naturally occurring substituted butadiene, myrcene, with a range of different naturally occurring and synthetic dienophiles. The synthesis of the Diels-Alder adduct from myrcene and acrylic acid, containing surfactant properties, was scaled-up in a plate-type continuous-flow reactor with a volume of 105 mL to a throughput of 2.79 kg of the fin...
متن کاملSustainable Production of Pharmaceutical Drugs Using Continuous Flow Reactors
The current trend in the pharmaceutical industry is towards continuous flow processes. The objective of this project is to provide the pharmaceutical industry with a technology roadmap to implement continuous flow processes to their manufacturing operations. Reducing economic and environmental costs is the driving force behind this trend. Continuous flow technology can produce a cheaper better ...
متن کاملContinuous-Flow Biochemical Reactors: Biocatalysis, Bioconversion, and Bioanalytical Applications Utilizing Immobilized Microfluidic Enzyme Reactors
AQ3 The utilization of continuous-flow biochemical reactors, including biocatalysis, biotransformation, and biochemical interaction based flow-analytical systems, and enzyme reactors are recently the focus of attention to produce fine biochemicals and also show great potential in bioanalytical applications. Continuous-flow biochemical processes implemented in microstructured reactors enable sho...
