چکیده
This study concerned the assessment of changes in coastline Kavvayi beach and its nine islands a tropical coastal wetland using remote sensing (RS) data geographic information systems (GIS), as this sedimentary environment is still poorly characterized. The satellite used were from LANDSAT images (30 m spatial resolution) (MSS—volume 5, TM, ETM, ETM+ volume 6) for period last 25 years (1990 to 2014). Band 5 Landsat (MSS) band 6 (ETM 24- OLI) because they clearly distinguish boundaries between land water. Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) was understand shoreline such erosion accretion processes by calculating net shift (NSM), end point rate (EPR), linear regression (LRR) years. results showed significant over studied period, leading accretion. Time variations analysis of the Hormoz strait northern shoreline by using Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS)
Extended abstract 1- Introduction Coastal systems are very dynamic, and their movement is relatively fast due to the collision of onshore and marine environment. The majority of the world's population is concentrated along with the coastal areas. Hormuz Strait coasts are affected by morphological variables due to the hydrodynamics of the sea and the dynamics of coastal and onshore environme...
متن کاملLong term coastal erosion and shoreline positions of Sri Lanka
Coastal zone of Sri Lanka is a key to sustainable development of the country. The erosion of country’s coastal zone has been identified as a long standing problem. Therefore, coastal sediment dynamics around the country has to be identified to develop an appropriate coastal zone management plan. Remote sensing and GIS techniques can be used for quantitative and qualitative analyses of coastal p...
متن کاملModeling storms improves estimates of long-term shoreline change
[1] Large storms make it difficult to extract the long-term trend of erosion or accretion from shoreline position data. Here we make storms part of the shoreline change model by means of a storm function. The data determine storm amplitudes and the rate at which the shoreline recovers from storms. Historical shoreline data are temporally sparse, and inclusion of all storms in one model over-fit...
متن کاملDigital Tide-Coordinated Shoreline
The shoreline is one of the most important features on earth’s surface. It is valuable to a diverse user community. But the dynamic nature of the shorelinemakes it dif cult to be represented in a naturally dynamic style and to be utilized in applications. The of cially usedshoreline, for examplein nauticalcharts,is the so-calledtide-coordinatedshoreline. It is also the shoreline that makes the ...

The main drivers of decadal-scale shoreline change, wave climate ment supply, are varied within a range of realistic scenarios to develop over 200 e change model simulations. Through numerous SWAN wave simulations, a table is devel...
