Size dependence of the photoinduced magnetism and long-range ordering in Prussian blue analog nanoparticles of rubidium cobalt hexacyanoferrate
Nanoparticles of rubidium cobalt hexacyanoferrate (RbjCok[Fe(CN)6]l · nH2O) were synthesized using different concentrations of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) to produce four different batches of particles with characteristic diameters ranging from 3 to 13 nm. Upon illumination with white light at 5 K, the magnetization of these particles increases. The long-range ferrimagnetic ordering temperatures...
متن کاملMetastable state of the photomagnetic Prussian blue analog
The thermodynamic properties of the photomagnetic Prussian blue analog K0.3Co[Fe(CN)6]0.77 · 3.6H2O, which exhibits a charge-transfer-induced spin transition (CTIST), are reported. According to the thermal history of the sample, different low-temperature states are obtained: a quenched high-spin state (Q), a low-spin state (LT) achieved through the decay of the Q state, and an intermediate stat...
متن کاملLong-Range Electron Transport Donor-Acceptor in Nonlinear Lattices
We study here several simple models of the electron transfer (ET) in a one-dimensional nonlinear lattice between a donor and an acceptor and propose a new fast mechanism of electron surfing on soliton-like excitations along the lattice. The nonlinear lattice is modeled as a classical one-dimensional Morse chain and the dynamics of the electrons are considered in the tight-binding approximation....
متن کاملThermally activated long range electron transport in living biofilms.
Microbial biofilms grown utilizing electrodes as metabolic electron acceptors or donors are a new class of biomaterials with distinct electronic properties. Here we report that electron transport through living electrode-grown Geobacter sulfurreducens biofilms is a thermally activated process with incoherent redox conductivity. The temperature dependency of this process is consistent with elect...
متن کاملShape-controlled synthesis of Prussian blue analogue Co3[Co(CN)6]2 nanocrystals.
Prussian blue analogue Co3[Co(CN)6]2 nanostructures with morphologies of truncated nanocubes (polyhedra), cubes and rods, were synthesized in large quantities by a direct dissociation of the single-source precursor K3[Co(CN)6] in a microemulsion system; the molar ratio of H2O to surfactant and the concentration of K3[Co(CN)6] both played important roles in determining the shape of the product.
