چکیده
There is global pressure to make advanced biofuels profitable. For cellulosic ethanol, three aspects remain as bottlenecks: collection of feedstocks, pretreatment methods, and enzyme production. In this paper, the first aspect investigated, by addressing main challenges for logistics agricultural residues. A logistic supply chain corn stover utilization ethanol production in Mexico proposed, a cost structure designed its estimation. By applying value methodology, seven links set minimum selling prices (MSPs) residues were determined. Furthermore, harvest index (HI), crop residue (CRI), nutrient substitution extraction residues, costs also calculated case study. The results HI 0.45, CRI 1.21, potential 7 kg N, 2.2 P2O5, 12.2 K2O per ton stover. estimated MSPs was: $28.49 USD/ton (for delivery biorefinery’s gate), $31.15 storage), $48.14 delivery, storage, replenishment). Given impact feedstock on profitability knowing details logistical information critical advancing field Mexico. We found that only 20% farmers currently sell their residues; however, 65% would be willing do so, significant percentage

Challenges of Cellulosic Ethanol Production from Xylose-extracted Corncob Residues
Xylose-extracted corncob residue (X-ER), a byproduct from the xylose production industry, is a potential cellulose-rich energy resource. However, attempts to achieve large-scale production of cellulosic ethanol using X-ER have been unsatisfactory due to a lack of understanding of the substrate. This study presents the first characterization of the X-ER to evaluate its potential utilization in t...
متن کاملKey Pretreatment Technologies on Cellulosic Ethanol Production
Conversion of lignocellulosic biomass to fuel ethanol involves pretreatments followed by enzyme-catalyzed hydrolysis to generate fermentable sugars. Efficient pretreatment method can significantly enhance hydrolysis of biomass and thus reduce ethanol production cost. Cellulosic plant materials are mainly composed of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin, the cheapest source of fermentable sugars....
متن کاملReview: Continuous hydrolysis and fermentation for cellulosic ethanol production.
Ethanol made biologically from a variety of cellulosic biomass sources such as agricultural and forestry residues, grasses, and fast growing wood is widely recognized as a unique sustainable liquid transportation fuel with powerful economic, environmental, and strategic attributes, but production costs must be competitive for these benefits to be realized. Continuous hydrolysis and fermentation...

Sugarcane bagasse, rice hulls, peanut shells, and cassava stalks are abundant lignocellulosic residues that could be considered as raw materials for ethanol production in tropical countries. The knowledge on the composition of lignocellulosic materials is important for their effective utilisation. In this work, a systematic comparison of the chemical composition of sugarcane bagasse, peanut she...
متن کاملUse of Ionic Liquids for Improvement of Cellulosic Ethanol Production
Cellulosic ethanol production has drawn much attention in recent years. However, there remain significant technical challenges before such production can be considered as economically feasible at an industrial scale. Among them, the efficient conversion of carbohydrates in lignocellulosic biomass into fermentable sugars is one of the most challenging technical difficulties in cellulosic ethanol...
