چکیده
We study theoretically two vibrating quantum emitters trapped near a one-dimensional waveguide and interacting with propagating photons. demonstrate, that in the regime of strong optomechanical interaction light-induced coupling emitter vibrations can lead to formation spatially localized vibration modes, exhibiting parity-time (PT ) symmetry breaking. These be interpreted as topological defects quasiclassical energy spectrum.

Detecting Broken PT-Symmetry
A fundamental problem in the theory of PT-invariant quantum systems is to determine whether a given system “respects” this symmetry or not. If not, the system usually develops non-real eigenvalues. It is shown in this contribution how to algorithmically detect the existence of complex eigenvalues for a given PT-symmetric matrix. The procedure uses classical results from stability theory which q...
متن کاملspontaneously-broken chiral symmetry
We present and discuss the properties and the main results of a cosmological model with a spontaneously-broken chiral symmetry. The model contains and relates dynamically, two spin-zero fields. The scalar field can provide the dynamical basis for inflation in the early universe. The pseudoscalar, Goldstone field can provide an early, small residual vacuum energy density, the absolute value of w...
متن کاملSpontaneously broken quark helicity symmetry
Abstract We show how quark helicity symmetry can be spontaneously broken in SU(N) gauge theory when that theory is quantized in the light-cone representation. The symmetry breaking is implemented by induced operators. These operators result from the fact that the vacuum is not trivial, but involves a condensate of fermionic zero modes. We show that the light-cone eigenvalue problem can be equiv...
متن کاملBroken-Symmetry Quantum Hall States in Twisted Bilayer Graphene
Twisted bilayer graphene offers a unique bilayer two-dimensional-electron system where the layer separation is only in sub-nanometer scale. Unlike Bernal-stacked bilayer, the layer degree of freedom is disentangled from spin and valley, providing eight-fold degeneracy in the low energy states. We have investigated broken-symmetry quantum Hall (QH) states and their transitions due to the interpl...
متن کاملEigenstate thermalization in systems with spontaneously broken symmetry.
A strongly nonintegrable system is expected to satisfy the eigenstate thermalization hypothesis, which states that the expectation value of an observable in an energy eigenstate is the same as the thermal value. This must be revised if the observable is an order parameter for a spontaneously broken symmetry, which has multiple thermal values. We propose that in this case the system is unstable ...
