چکیده

Abstract Background Crohn’s disease (CD) recurrence can occur not only at the site of anastomosis but also elsewhere in bowel following an ileocolic resection (ICR) procedure. The aims present study were to assess long-term outcomes a primary ICR procedure for CD consecutive patients and examine location reoperation causative lesion. Methods We examined cases surgery with initially performed our institution. Those simultaneous multiple or strictureplasty excluded. Results A total 169 who underwent due enrolled. median follow-up period was 12.6 years (range 4–27 years). needed 45 (26.6%), whom 14 had lesions other than anastomotic site. most common lesion colon rather oral side small intestine. Furthermore, we investigated relationship between presence residual initial reoperation. In group without (n = 31), 29.0% 9) non-anastomotic involved indications reoperation, while that 35.7% 5) 14). Conclusions Anastomotic is factor ICR. Regular examinations applicable treatment awareness cause limited are important these cases.

Laparoscopic-Assisted Ileocolic Resection for Crohn's Disease

BACKGROUND This study reviews our experience with laparoscopic-assisted ileocolic resection in patients with Crohn's disease. The adequacy and safety of this procedure as measured by intraoperative and postoperative complications were evaluated. Special attention was paid to the group in which laparoscopy was not feasible and conversion to laparotomy was necessary. METHODS Between 1992 and 20...

Laparoscopic Ileocolic Resection for Crohn's Disease Associated With Midgut Malrotation

Midgut malrotation is an anomaly of fetal intestinal rotation. Its incidence in adults is rare. A case of midgut malrotation in a 51-year-old man with complicated Crohn's disease of the terminal ileum is presented. Symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment are reviewed. Preoperative workup led to correct surgical planning that ultimately allowed a successful laparoscopic resection.

Predictive factors for endoscopic recurrence after ileocolic resection for Crohn's disease.

lators and biologic agents, approximately 70%-80% of patients with Crohn’s disease (CD) undergo surgical resection and up to 70% of these require a second operation due to continuing inflammation (1). Therefore, postoperative recurrence (POR) still remains a crucial issue. The mechanism of POR is not exactly known, but it may be mediated by luminal contents. POR can be determined and measured c...

Updating predictors of endoscopic recurrence after ileocolic resection for Crohn disease.

BACKGROUND/AIMS Identifying predictors of endoscopic recurrence (ER) has become very important to guide the decision of postoperative strategy. This study aimed to determine the rate of endoscopic recurrence until 12 months after ileocolic resection for Crohn disease (CD) in a cohort and identify its possible predictors. MATERIALS AND METHODS We conducted a retrospective single-center study t...
