Localisation economies, intellectual property rights protection and entrepreneurship in China: A Bayesian analysis of multi-level spatial correlation

Entrepreneurship is an important determinant of innovation and growth with uneven spatial distribution. In addition, the mechanism entrepreneurship affected by administrative hierarchies. However, driving forces behind differences are not clear. Therefore, this study aims to examine key determinants clarifying roles localisation economies intellectual property rights (IPRs) protection from 2008 2017 using a Bayesian analysis multi-level correlation. The empirical results indicate that IPRs have major influence on entrepreneurship. particular, although it insignificant, role at prefecture level important, because impact supplier linkages provincial negative. effects both levels significant in all models, its effect increases improvement model performance. Moreover, these vary across different scales.
