Local Climate Zones to Identify Surface Urban Heat Islands: A Systematic Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Land Surface Temperature (LST) obtained by remote sensing data is an essential indicator for analyzing the Urban Heat Island (SUHI). A factor contributing to its occurrence reflections of different materials in urban and rural areas, which significantly affect energy balance near surface. Therefore, recent studies have increasingly used Local Climate Zones (LCZs) classification system discriminate those areas. our study aims perform a systematic review using PRISMA method LCZ applied understand LST SUHI phenomenon. At first, 10,403 related articles were found scientific literature which, after passing through filtering stages, resulted 51 that further analyzed. Our results showed these very recent, beginning 2016, present increasing trend. Even though all reviewed somehow try phenomenon, more than half them, calculation was not mentioned. China country with most studies. Images from Landsat TERRA/AQUA sensors appeared 82% appears definitions World Database. Finally, we conclude mapping methodologies accurate enough considering current climatic changes. this can help new on identification world areas estimate LST.

Urban climates and heat islands: albedo, evapotranspiration, and anthropogenic heat
As an introduction to this special issue on urban heat islands and cool communities, this paper reviews some of the characteristics of urban climates and the causes and effects of urban heat islands. In particular, the impacts of surface albedo, evapotranspiration, and anthropogenic heating on the near-surface climate are discussed. Numerical simulations and field measurements indicate that inc...

متن کاملAn Evidence-Based Review of Impacts, Strategies and Tools to Mitigate Urban Heat Islands
The impacts of climate changes on cities, which are home to over half of the world's population, are already being felt. In many cases, the intensive speed with which urban centres have been growing means that little attention has been paid to the role played by climatic factors in maintaining quality of life. Among the negative consequences of rapid city growth is the expansion of the problems...
متن کاملTowards Consistent Mapping of Urban Structures – Global Human Settlement Layer and Local Climate Zones
Although more than half of the Earth’s population live in urban areas, we know remarkably little about most cities and what we do know is incomplete (lack of coverage) and inconsistent (varying definitions and scale). While there have been considerable advances in the derivation of a global urban mask using satellite information, the complexity of urban structures, the heterogeneity of material...
متن کاملMapping urban climate zones and quantifying climate behaviors--an application on Toulouse urban area (France).
Facing the concern of the population to its environment and to climatic change, city planners are now considering the urban climate in their choices of planning. The use of climatic maps, such Urban Climate Zone‑UCZ, is adapted for this kind of application. The objective of this paper is to demonstrate that the UCZ classification, integrated in the World Meteorological Organization guidelines, ...
