چکیده

Magakian et al. (2019) called attention to the current bright state of LkHa 225 South, which over past two decades has changed from $>20^m$ $<13^m$. We present recent optical photometric monitoring that shows colorless, non-sinusoidal, periodic brightness variations. The oscillations occur every 43 days, and have amplitude $\sim$0.7 mag with some variation among cycles. also new flux-calibrated near-infrared spectroscopy, we model in terms a keplerian disk. Additional high dispersion spectra demonstrate similarity absorption line pattern categories "mixed temperature" accretion outburst objects. At blue wavelengths, South pure spectrum is good spectral match FU Ori stars V1515 Cyg V1057 Cyg. red infrared however, more similar Gaia 19ajj, showing emission TiO, CO, metals. Sr II lines indicate low surface gravity atmosphere. There are signatures strong wind/outflow. was moderately early 1950's as well late 1980's, evidence for deep fades during intervening epochs. body suggests LkHa225 another case source episodically enhanced causes brightening by orders magnitude, development hot warm wind. It but reminiscent its long time oscillation near peak, embedded sources L1634 IRS7 ESO Ha 99.

A Search for SS Cyg Outburst Predictors SS Cyg Outburst Predictors and Long Term Quasi-Periodic Behavior

We report null results on a two year photometric search for outburst predictors in SS Cyg. Observations in Johnson V and Cousins I were obtained almost daily for multiple hours per night for two observing seasons. The accumulated data are put through various statistical and visual analysis techniques but fails to detect any outburst predictors. However, analysis of 102 years of AAVSO archival v...

The X–ray Spectrum of the Dwarf Nova SS Cyg in quiescence and outburst

We reanalyse archival GINGA and ASCA X–ray data from SS Cyg in both quiescence and outburst, using multi–temperature plasma models for the continuum and line emission, together with their reflection from the X–ray illuminated white dwarf and accretion disk. Reflection is clearly detected in all the spectra, but its contribution is larger in the softer X–ray spectra seen in outburst than in quie...

Swift observations of V404 Cyg during the 2015 outburst: X-ray outflows from super-Eddington accretion

The black-hole binary V404 Cyg entered the outburst phase in June 2015 after 26 years of X-ray quiescence, and with its behaviour broke the outburst evolution pattern typical of most black-hole binaries. We observed the entire outburst with the Swift satellite and performed time-resolved spectroscopy of its most active phase, obtaining over a thousand spectra with exposures from tens to hundred...

Synthetic NLTE accretion disc spectra for the dwarf nova SS Cyg during an outburst cycle

Context. Dwarf nova outbursts result from enhanced mass transport through the accretion disc of a cataclysmic variable system. Aims. We assess the question of whether these outbursts are caused by an enhanced mass transfer from the late-type main sequence star onto the white dwarf (so-called mass transfer instability model, MTI) or by a thermal instability in the accretion disc (disc instabilit...

A large cloud outburst at Titan’s south pole

Images of Titan acquired over five nights in October 2004 using the adaptive optics system at the Keck Observatory show dramatic increases in tropospheric cloud activity at the south pole compared with all other images of Titan clouds to date. During this time, Titan’s south polar clouds brightened to more than 18 times their typical values. The Cassini Ta flyby of Titan occurred as this storm ...
