LIVER CIRRHOSIS ON HISTOMORPHOLOGY AND VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY: A CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY AT TERTIARY CARE HOSPITAL OF PESHAWAR, PAKISTAN

Objectives: To estimate the frequency of vitamin D insuffi ciency in individuals with cirrhosis liver based on histomorphology.Methods and materials: In current investigation, 148 patients were tracked to determine incidence adults histomorphology. All those participants, both males females, (of any severity) for at least 06 months aged 30 60 years included whereas, osteomalacia or insufficiency (as determined by medical records) chronic renal failure specifi c investigations excluded study.All presenting OPD meeting inclusion criteria i.e. people cirrhosis. Vitamin was stratified age, gender, disease duration examine impact modifi ers using chi square test having a p-value <0.05 regarded as noteworthy Using SPSS version 20.Results: present study, age distribution examined which was; from 30-40 41 (27.7%), 41-50 (40.5%) 51-60 47(31.8%). Average 55.56±3.357 years. Gender wise among analysed as; 94 (63.5%) females 54 (36.5%). Distribution BMI classifi cation below 18.5 (underweight) (40.5%), 18.5-24.9 (normal weight) 43 (29.1%), 25.0-29.9 (pre-obesity) 19 (12.8%) 30.0-34.9 (obesity class) 26 (17.6%). diabetes Yes found 57 (38.5%) No 91 (61.5%). smoking analyzed Yes, 51 (34.5%) whereas 97(65.5%).Conclusion: The link between histomorphology has significant therapeutic promise. We expect look into variety extra-skeletal indications near future. defi cit function, infectious effects, fi brosis may back its use prognostic well suggestive tool.
