LIS research across 50 years: content analysis of journal articles

Purpose This paper analyses the research in Library and Information Science (LIS) reports on (1) status of LIS 2015 (2) evolution longitudinally from 1965 to 2015. Design/methodology/approach The study employs a quantitative intellectual content analysis articles published 30+ scholarly journals, following design by Tuomaala et al. (2014). In analysis, we classify along eight dimensions covering topical methodology.
