چکیده
Monte Carlo simulations and Wertheim’s thermodynamic perturbation theory (TPT) are used to predict the phase diagram percolation curve for simple two-dimensional rose model of water. In water, water molecules modelled as Lennard-Jones disks, with additional potentials orientation dependent pairwise interactions that mimic formation hydrogen bonds. Continuum percolation and the liquid–solid coexistence line of simple fluids
We compare the percolation loci for chemical clusters with the liquid– solid transition in the temperature–density phase diagram. Chemical clusters are defined as sets of particles connected through particle-particle bonds that last for a given time τ . By using molecular dynamics simulations of a Lennard–Jones system we obtain the percolation loci at different values of τ as the lines in the t...

We study a new geometric bootstrap percolation model, line percolation, on the d-dimensional integer grid [n]. In line percolation with infection parameter r, infection spreads from a subset A ⊂ [n] of initially infected lattice points as follows: if there exists an axis-parallel line L with r or more infected lattice points on it, then every lattice point of [n] on L gets infected, and we repe...
متن کاملPhysics of the Jagla model as the liquid-liquid coexistence line slope varies.
The slope of the coexistence line of the liquid-liquid phase transition can be positive, negative, or zero. All three possibilities have been found in Monte-Carlo simulations of a modified spherically symmetric two-scale Jagla model. Since the liquid-liquid critical point frequently lies in a region of the phase diagram that is difficult to access experimentally, it is of great interest to stud...

Given ω ≥ 1, let Z2(ω) be the graph with vertex set Z 2 in which two vertices are joined if they agree in one coordinate and differ by at most ω in the other. (Thus Z2(1) is precisely Z .) Let pc(ω) be the critical probability for site percolation in Z2(ω). Extending recent results of Frieze, Kleinberg, Ravi and Debany, we show that limω→∞ ωpc(ω) = log(3/2). We also prove analogues of this resu...
متن کاملVapour-liquid coexistence of an active Lennard-Jones fluid.
We study a three-dimensional system of self-propelled Lennard-Jones particles using Brownian dynamics simulations. Using recent theoretical results for active matter, we calculate the pressure and report equations of state for the system. Additionally, we chart the vapour-liquid coexistence and show that the coexistence densities can be well described using simple power laws. Lastly, we demonst...
