Liquid Modified Anti-Resonant Reflecting Guidance in Silica Capillary for Sensing Applications

In this work, the transmission characteristic of a single mode fiber-silica capillary-single fiber (SMF-Capillary-SMF) structure is modified by introducing liquids inside and outside silica capillary. The anti-resonant reflecting guidance mechanism in capillary influenced presence liquids. By immersing section liquid-filled SMF-Capillary-SMF into liquids, both resonant wavelength intensity are altered due to liquid-modified condition. Temperature change will lead refractive index (RI) variation causing shift. Experimental results indicate that temperature sensitivity dependent on RI value liquid 2.99 nm/℃ experimentally achieved range 25 ℃-60 ℃ when 1.39. On other hand, at wavelength, which determined reflectivity inner outer surfaces ring cladding, can be affected ambient changes. increases as rises, varies from 240 dB/RIU 60 1.31 Such device simple easy fabricate, find wide applications environments like biochemical pharmacy industries.
