چکیده

Abstract Introduction Because of the activities and effects they induce, hormones are prohibited for use anabolic purposes in farm animals intended slaughter, which is regulated European Union by relevant legal provisions. Therefore, there an obligation to monitor residues food animal origin ensure consumer safety. A hormone banned but used formerly fattening cattle, stanozolol, its metabolite 16β-OH-stanozolol synthetic compounds that belong a large group steroid hormones. This study investigates these urine. Material Methods From 2006–2022, 2,995 livestock urine samples were tested stanozolol Poland as part National Residue Monitoring Programme. liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry method determine was developed validated according required criteria. Urine sample analysis based on enzymatic hydrolysis potentially present it free form, extraction them from with mixture n-hexane butyl alcohol, purification extract NH2 amine column finally, instrumental detection. Results The apparent recovery precision parameters line established criteria, while decision limits CCα detection capabilities CCβ lower than recommended concentration analytical set at 2 μg L −1 (valid until December 15, 2022; currently 0.5 ). Conclusion All examined compliant evaluation

Determination of stanozolol and 3′-hydroxystanozolol in rat hair, urine and serum using liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry

UNLABELLED BACKGROUND Anabolic androgenic steroids, such as stanozolol, are typically misused by athletes during preparation for competition. Out-of-competition testing presents a unique challenge in the current anti-doping detection system owing to logistic reasons. Analysing hair for the presence of a prohibited drug offers a feasible solution for covering the wider window in out-of-compet...

Detection of stanozolol in environmental waters using liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry

BACKGROUND Owing to frequent administration of a wide range of pharmaceutical products, various environmental waters have been found to be contaminated with pharmacologically active substances. For example, stanozolol, a synthetic anabolic steroid, is frequently misused for performance enhancement as well as for illegal growth promoting purposes in veterinary practice. Previously we reported st...

Preparation of Lyophilised Samples of Bovine Urine Containing Residues of 16ß-hydroxy-stanozolol

An analytical method for the determination of stanozolol and its metabolites, based on liquid chromatography mass spectrometry was validated and used during the preparation of lyophilised samples of bovine urine. A serie of lyophilised samples was prepared and characterised in terms of mass concentration of 16ß-hydroxy-stanozolol and homogeneity.

Jaundice induced by stanozolol hypersensitivity.

A 66-year-old male patient developed jaundice after 7 months of treatment with the anabolic steroid, stanozolol. When the drug was withdrawn he made a full and uneventful recovery. A liver biopsy showed the histology of a hypersensitivity reaction. This is believed to be the first time jaundice has been recorded with stanozolol therapy and the first time a hypersensitivity-type jaundice has bee...

Relative Determination Approach to the Metabolites of Protoberberine Alkaloids in Rat Urine by Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry for the Comparative Studies on Rhizome coptidis and Zuojinwan Preparation

The lack of authentic standards has limited the quantitative analysis of herbal drugs in biological samples. The present work demonstrated a practicable strategy for the assay of herbs and their metabolites independent of authentic standards. A liquid chromatography–electrospray ionization–mass spectrometry (LC–ESI–MS) method for the qualitative and quantitative determination of the metabolites...
