چکیده
Bangladesh is one of the world's most disaster-prone areas. The northwest region seismically active region. Dinajpur district closest to Himalayan frontal thrust, making it vulnerable earthquake-related liquefaction. Therefore, in-situ parameters are used assess liquefaction susceptibility subsurface geology for in terms soil safety factor (FS), potential index (LPI), and probability (PL). This study deterministic probabilistic techniques estimate area based on standard penetration test (SPT) N values. SPT data was collected at 160 different places within area. In an earthquake scenario with Mw = 6.5, resistance evaluated each location using a 0.20g peak ground acceleration (PGA). results SPT-based assessment were found be considerably different. strata prone zones city have been determined common comparison. According techniques, has that, out locations, 36 50 sites susceptible Then, geospatial (IDW interpolation), hazard maps created depending particular locations. Finally, independent secondary dataset, resulting validated examine developed approach. obtained R2values regression analysis event more than 0.79. produced map may utilized successfully planning, management, long-term development studied Doi: 10.28991/CEJ-2022-08-07-010 Full Text: PDF

Shear-Wave Velocity–Based Probabilistic and Deterministic Assessment of Seismic Soil Liquefaction Potential
Shear-wave velocity (Vs) offers a means to determine the seismic resistance of soil to liquefaction by a fundamental soil property. This paper presents the results of an 11-year international project to gather new Vs site data and develop probabilistic correlations for seismic soil liquefaction occurrence. Toward that objective, shear-wave velocity test sites were identified, and measurements m...

In this paper, assessment of liquefaction of soils by various approaches have been reviewed and presented in chronological order. The study focuses on procedural requirements and assessment for conventional and computational methods. Simplified method given by Seed, Tokimatsu-Yoshimi (T-Y) and Idriss & Boulanger methods of liquefaction assessmenthave been analyzed. Computational methods like ar...
متن کاملEvaluation of Soil Liquefaction Potential by Sensitivity Analysis, Reliability and Data validation
In this study, it is attempted to analyze sensitivity and reliability in order to evaluate the liquefaction potential in soil layers in Tabriz. 62 boreholes that had possible conditions for liquefaction were selected. Seismic mapping was simulated using finite fault method and then the effect of soil layers on PGA was estimated. In continue, the liquefaction potential index was estimated and th...

This paper presents prediction of liquefaction potential of soils by neuro-fuzzy models evaluated using Idriss and Boulanger method. In order to address the collective knowledge built up in conventional liquefaction method, an alternative Takagi-Sugeno-Kang reliant neuro-fuzzy model has been developed. Neuro-fuzzy is one of the artificial intelligence approaches that can be classified by machin...
متن کاملEvaluation of Liquefaction Potential of Soil Using Genetic Programming
Liquefaction of soil is one of the major causes for the significant damages to the buildings, lifeline systems and harbor facilities caused by the earthquakes. At present artificial intelligence techniques such as artificial neural network (ANN) and support vector machine (SVM) based models are found to be more efficient compared to statistical methods. The present study discusses about the eva...
