چکیده
On 26 November 2019, an Mw = 6.4 earthquake struck the central-western part of Albania. Its impact comprises secondary environmental effects (EEE) and severe building damage within Periadriatic Tirana Depressions. EEE comprised mainly liquefaction phenomena in coastal, riverine, lagoonal sites earthquake-affected area. From evaluation all available earthquake-related data, it is concluded that are not randomly distributed affected area but structurally lithologically controlled. The areas NW–SE striking zones formed graben-like syncline with trending fold axes. These bounded by marginal thrust faults filled geological formations Neogene to Quaternary age. structures coincide seismogenic fault 2019 as derived from provided plane solutions. An approach for susceptibility assessment applied based on seismological data inventory. comparison compiled inventory maps, majority observed has been generated very high susceptible areas.

Comparing Liquefaction Phenomena Observed during the 2010 Maule, Chile Earthquake and 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake
On February 27, 2010, the central-south part of Chile was affected by a strong ground motion of Magnitude 8.8, that induced moderate values of peak ground acceleration (PGA) on rock outcrops, in the range of 0.13g to 0.32g, while in soil deposits, a maximum PGA of 0.94g was recorded. The duration of the shaking was close to two minutes as it is substantiated by the available acceleration record...

Third Graders’ Misconceptions about Evaporation and Liquefaction Phenomena A. Badriyaan, Ph.D. Concepts of evaporation and liquefaction are of significance in both daily life and the school curriculum, yet misconceptions about these two phenomena are frequent. To assess the extent of such misconceptions among third graders, a cluster sample of 132 of them from four schools i...
متن کاملParallel Finite Element Modeling of Earthquake Ground Response and Liquefaction
Parallel computing is a promising approach to alleviate the computational demand in conducting largescale finite element analyses. This paper presents a numerical modeling approach for earthquake ground response and liquefaction using the parallel nonlinear finite element program, ParCYCLIC, which is designed for distributed-memory message-passing parallel computer systems. In ParCYCLIC, finite...
متن کاملDecision Tree Approach for Soil Liquefaction Assessment
In the current study, the performances of some decision tree (DT) techniques are evaluated for postearthquake soil liquefaction assessment. A database containing 620 records of seismic parameters and soil properties is used in this study. Three decision tree techniques are used here in two different ways, considering statistical and engineering points of view, to develop decision rules. The DT ...
