Linear Parameter-Varying Control of a Power-Synchronized Grid-Following Inverter

This article proposes a linear parameter-varying loop-shaping controller for power-synchronized grid-following inverter (PSGFLI). control strategy regulates the output active and reactive powers at terminal instead of point connection does not require phase-locked loop (PLL) extracting voltage phase angle. Hence, prevalent stability issues exhibited when GFLIs are connected to weak grids present, proposed PSGFLI can work under both very strong grid conditions without being prone instability. In this approach, parameters functions operating changed during real-time operation such that closed-loop performance is preserved in all points. Furthermore, since impedance factor design process, robustness analysis against estimation error conducted, it shown discrepancies estimated real impedances unlikely make system unstable. The validated MATLAB/PLECS experiments grids.
