Limas House Horizontal Proportion and Dulang Module: The Collectivism of Austronesian, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, and Islam in Palembang History

The development of Palembang city is progressing rapidly while traditional limas houses are increasingly rare. As a result, the local context regarding rules for building has become rare and not documented. This unfortunate considering that have architectural cultural records related to history City, starting from Austronesian, Hindu-Buddhist, Taoist Islamic period. study seeks find horizontal proportion used in construction their relation with values society. Researchers explored dulang,a circular container holds plates serving food eight people, as base module builds floor area limas. Data were collected 50 consisting 20 four-bengkilas (4BL) 30 three-bengkilas (3BL). results show 3BL generally made four dulang on front seven side. In comparison, 4BL built five semi-public side bengkilas, three back, Furthermore, researcher shows this rule changed across time line smaller house size. change signifies decline collectivism concrete principle merely symbolic one. associated an increase individual's economy standard living. research implications efforts standardize model conserving city's heritage.
