Mechanism of Pd(NHC)-catalyzed transfer hydrogenation of alkynes.
The transfer semihydrogenation of alkynes to (Z)-alkenes shows excellent chemo- and stereoselectivity when using a zerovalent palladium(NHC)(maleic anhydride)-complex as precatalyst and triethylammonium formate as hydrogen donor. Studies on the kinetics under reaction conditions showed a broken positive order in substrate and first order in catalyst and hydrogen donor. Deuterium-labeling studie...
متن کاملAmbient arylmagnesiation of alkynes catalysed by ligandless nickel(ii).
A simple and efficient catalytic arylmagnesiation of diarylacetylenes and aryl(alkyl)acetylenes is accomplished by NiCl2·6H2O at r.t. in the absence of stabilising ligands. The corresponding tetra-substituted alkenes can be obtained in good yields by subsequent treatment with different electrophiles.
متن کاملSelective iron-catalyzed transfer hydrogenation of terminal alkynes.
A novel iron-catalyzed transfer hydrogenation of alkynes to the corresponding alkenes applying formic acid as a hydrogen donor is reported. An in situ combination of Fe(BF(4))(2)·6H(2)O and tetraphos allows for highly selective hydrogenation of a broad range of aromatic and aliphatic alkynes tolerating different functional groups.
متن کاملNickel-catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of conjugated olefins.
Asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of electron-deficient olefins is realized with nickel catalysts supported by strongly σ-donating bisphosphines. Deuterium labeling experiments point to a reaction sequence of formate decarboxylation, asymmetric hydride insertion and non-stereoselective protonation of resulting nickel enolates.
متن کاملNickel-catalyzed allylic substitution of simple alkenes.
Nickel-catalyzed intermolecular allylic substitution of simple alkenes (ethylene and alpha olefins) is described. This method is the first catalytic intermolecular process for direct allylation of nonconjugated, nonstrained simple alkenes. Catalyst loadings as low as 2.5 mol % Ni afford the desired product in high yield in both gram-scale and smaller scale coupling reactions.
