چکیده
Summary As buildings become taller and slender, they more sensitive to wind‐induced vibrations. Commonly used solutions mitigate vibrations are structural system modifications integration of supplemental damping devices. This paper presents a procedure optimize the device configuration with goal reducing The performance building is expressed in terms life‐cycle cost (LCC), allowing consider not only initial costs associated vibration mitigation but also lifetime savings due suppression. proposed employs set Kriging surrogate models analyze large number different properties/damping characteristics. combination that minimizes LCC taken as optimal configuration. demonstrated on wind‐sensitive 39‐story equipped passive dampers. Results accuracy depends input variables considered, an average root mean square error 2.5% for floors without dampers 5% devices, respectively. It was stiffness–damping depend assumed modifications.

متن کاملFull-Scale Validation of Finite Element Models for Tall Buildings
While high-rise construction serves as one of the most challenging projects undertaken by society each year, tall buildings are one of the few constructed facilities whose design relies solely upon analytical and scaled models, which, though based upon fundamental mechanics and years of research and experience, have yet to be systematically validated in full-scale. In response to this deficienc...
متن کاملLifetime Buy Optimization to Minimize Lifecycle Cost
Mismatches between electronic part procurement lifecycles and the lifecycles of the products that they are used in cause products with long manufacturing and/or support lives to incur significant obsolescence management costs. Lifetime buy is one of the most prevalent mitigation approaches employed for electronic part obsolescence management. Making lifetime purchases of parts when they go obso...
