Abstract Drawing from a review of theoretical, methodological, and empirical literature on life skills the fields education, public health, psychology, economics, international development, this paper attempts to clarify basic definitional conceptual issues that relate education. It addresses questions: (1) What are skills, how has term emerged in academic donor agency literature? And (2) bodies practice research evidence converge rise ‘life skills’ programming increased interest among thought leaders donors field education?
