Introduction: A child’s cancer diagnosis causes severe stress for parents throughout the treatment process. Long-term stress, an uncertain prognosis and constant disposability cause carers of a sick child to experience adverse changes in areas physical psychosocial health. Their living situation depends on support they receive from loved ones medical staff. Research assessment their specific is gaining importance, which requires use appropriate tool. Such possibilities are provided by Life Situation Scale Parents children with cancer. The article presents next steps adaptation this questionnaire. Methods: total 112 participated study. were age range 25 59 years (M = 38.56 years; SD 6.71). procedure adapting (LSS-P) included verification factor structure psychometric properties Polish version Results: Statistical analyses confirmed good (LSS-P). includes 20 statements measures 3 types support: social, emotional institutional i.e. received directly Conclusion: proved be valid reliable scale can used diagnosing needs process This tool particularly useful Oncology Departments, where it important care not only little patient, but also parents.
