چکیده

In this work, the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology is used to examine implications of CO2 capture from a natural gas combined cycle power plant with post-combustion carbon (NGCC-CCS) in Iraq, taking into account two different design scenarios. first scenario (retrofit), unit considered as an end pipe technology that can be linked existing plant. The second considers grassroots design, which new equipped needs constructed. LCA carried out based on impact assessment (LCIA) methodologies ReCipe 2016 Midpoint (H), TRACI 2.1, and IMPACT 2002+ investigate whether chosen LCIA method influences analysis for decision support process development. results three categories applied both scenarios reveal 28% reduction Global Warming Potentials (GWPs) 14% 17% increase Particulate Matter Formation Potential (PMFP) Acidification (AP) potential scenario, respectively. Finally, uncertainty performed more accurately reflect influence uncertain factors statistical significance environmental evaluation research, indicating these uncertainties may significantly affect ultimate decision.

The cost of carbon capture and storage for natural gas combined cycle power plants.

This paper examines the cost of CO(2) capture and storage (CCS) for natural gas combined cycle (NGCC) power plants. Existing studies employ a broad range of assumptions and lack a consistent costing method. This study takes a more systematic approach to analyze plants with an amine-based postcombustion CCS system with 90% CO(2) capture. We employ sensitivity analyses together with a probabilist...

Environmental-economic evaluation of sugar cane bagasse gasification power plants versus combined-cycle gas power plants

Approximately 2.4 million tons of bagasse are produced each year in Iran, most of which are currently treated as waste adding to serious environmental concerns. Application of bagasse for energy production is a sustainable solution to supply the required energy within the sugar refineries and export the surplus electricity to the grid. Currently, the energy demand in Iranian sugar mills is main...
