چکیده
Abstract Life-cycle cost analysis (LCCA) is a decision-making tool particularly useful for the design of bridges as it predicts lifetime expenses and supports inspections management maintenance activities. LCCA allows to consider uncertainties on loads, resistances, degradation numerical modelling structural response analysis. It also permits different limit states types damage in unified framework. Among damages that can occur steel steel-concrete composite bridges, fatigue one most dangerous ones, may lead sudden fragile rupture, even at operational traffic levels. In this context, present paper proposes framework based use Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research (PEER) equation which first time utilized fragility subjected fatigue, highlighting possibility treating problem estimation with an approach similar currently adopted induced by other hazards, like earthquake wind. To aim, index computed through Palmgren-Miner’s rule engineering demand parameter. The applied steel-reinforced concrete multi-span roadway bridge evaluating state from load models, i.e. Technical Code-based model results Weigh Motion monitoring system. evolution over probability failure life-cycle costs due heavy loads are investigated distributions parameter models. comparison between probabilities obtained two encourages adoption systems correct estimation.

The available fatigue theories have been examined using simple specimens subjected to bending or tension-compression loads. Therefore, the stress fields have been generally one or two dimensional. Anti-roll bar is a component belongs to the suspension system of the vehicles. In spite of having simple circular section, due to the having several curvatures, this component experiences a three-dime...

متن کاملFatigue Life Assessment of Composite Airplane Wing Subjected to Variable Mechanical and Thermal Loads
The purpose of this paper is to estimate the fatigue life of an airplane wing with laminated composite skin, subjected to variable mechanical and thermal loads. To achieve this aim,at first, the three-dimensional model of airplane wing was drawn in CATIA software. Then, by transferring the model to the ABAQUS software, the finite element model of the wing wascreated. H...
متن کاملLife-cycle Cost Analysis for the Seismic Isolation of Bridges in a Region of Low to Moderate Seismicity
A nonlinear approach for the life-cycle cost (LCC) analysis is proposed. Computational procedure for the analysis of LCC for seismically isolated bridges in a region of low to moderate seismicity is established. To compute the failure probability of critical structural components, most probable failure modes for the structure-isolator system are defined as unseating failure of a superstructure,...
