چکیده
Pd-based membranes are attracting great attention to reach ultra-pure hydrogen in independent separators or combined with catalysts membrane reactors. Many advances have been proposed for their fabrication over the last few years, reaching relatively thin Pd-films onto porous substrates high permeation capacities and mechanical stability, although commercialization penetration industry still scarce. At this point, it is important complete all these technological data about related economic environmental implications during detect possible bottlenecks select best strategy. In context, current study presents first time a life cycle assessment focused on preparation of composite-membranes by Electroless Pore-Plating (ELP-PP). Two different types composite supported stainless steel tubes analyzed, including not an additional CeO 2 intermediate layer between support Pd-film. Precise experimental process at laboratory-scale were considered account both materials energy requirements. Thereafter, impacts estimated through ReCiPe methodology using software Simapro 8.5. The results evidence that climate change (CC), human toxicity (HT), acidification (AC), freshwater ecotoxicity (FWE), metal depletion (MD) fossil fuel resources (FD) most relevant generated manufacturing membrane. Under perspective, palladium deposition appears as step highest impacts. It can be explained consumption high-energy required cycles. Review of Supported Pd-Based Membranes Preparation by Electroless Plating for Ultra-Pure Hydrogen Production
In the last years, hydrogen has been considered as a promising energy vector for the oncoming modification of the current energy sector, mainly based on fossil fuels. Hydrogen can be produced from water with no significant pollutant emissions but in the nearest future its production from different hydrocarbon raw materials by thermochemical processes seems to be more feasible. In any case, a mi...
متن کاملUltrasound-Assisted Pd Activation Process for Electroless Silver Plating
An ultrasound-assisted activation method for electroless silver plating is presented in this study. When the ultrasound was applied during the activation step, the amount of the Pd species adsorbed on substrate surfaces was higher than that of sample pretreated with a conventional activation process without ultrasound irradiation. With this activation method, it was also shown that the adsorbed...

Nickel-based magnetic activated carbon was synthesized from coconut shell activated carbon by electroless plating with palladium-free activation. The effect of plating solution volume on metallic ratio and adsorption capacity were evaluated. The effect of metallic ratio on specific area, pore volume, and magnetic properties were investigated. The morphologies of activated carbon before and afte...
