Life Cycle Assessment of Gayo Arabica Coffee Green Bean at Aceh Province

Indonesia's coffee production will reach 774.6 thousand tons in 2021, an increase of 2.75% from 2020, which was 753.9 tons, and is the highest last decade expected to threefold 2050. Hence, evaluating environmental performance agroindustry essential if it become a more sustainable agroindustry. This paper aims assess (energy footprint, water carbon footprint) Gayo Arabica green bean with different agro-industry models. The method evaluate that can be used identify indications sustainability Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Method. study conducted on exporter cooperatives Central Aceh. Primary data were obtained through interviews farmers, collectors, huller owners, cooperative administrators. Secondary comes reports. LCA described two product systems, model 2015 2016. based system carried out includes treatment, pulping, collecting, drying, hulling, finishing, transportation. 2016 until now sub-processes for collecting 1, 2, results show energy footprint (2.5128 MJ per f.u) greater than (1.2336 f.u), same as system, namely 0. 0086 m3 f.u., (1.93 kg CO2-eq (1.48 f.u). initiative (in 2016) purpose process improvement but cannot reduce emissions. To emissions use fossil fuels, necessary optimize land transportation routes efficiency.
