Abstract Religiously affiliated schools employ a substantial portion of the Australian educational workforce. These religiously are exempt from state‐based anti‐discrimination legislation in varying degrees. This can have devastating effect on LGBT+ employees. While NSW has broad exemptions to legislation, contrast Tasmanian provides very limited exemptions. paper examines and compares experiences ten teachers employed Tasmania New South Wales.
