The lectotype (P00537796) is designated for the name Brachyscome neocaledonica Guill. (now accepted as Pytinicarpa (Guill.) G.L.Nesom), type species of genus G.L.Nesom (Asteraceae). This action proved necessary only syntypes that were cited by Guillaumin in protologue; also, no lectotypification was provided when Nesom erected Pytinicarpa. Some from gatherings protologue represent a related sarasinii (Däniker) (Brachyscome Däniker) or mixed collections.
