Learning Spatial Design through Interdisciplinary Collaboration

چکیده
Spatial design at interior, site, city and regional scales is increasingly complex, will continue to be so with the uncertainty of climate crisis growing place-based intricacies pluralist societies. In response this complexity, professional practice has pursued new ways working. More projects are becoming more interdisciplinary less hierarchically structured, involving collaborative project teams a variety backgrounds in architecture, urban design, landscape interior engineering, ecological sciences art. At universities, design-learning studio which pedagogically champions authentic replication projects, also bifurcated. While teaching through traditional disciplinary-based problem-solving processes an individual still understandably commonplace, type emerged, led by group work collaborations, framed complexity seemingly irreconcilable problematic subject. This emergent domain warrants research into pedagogical structures, techniques learning activities; paper explains such investigations undertaken live educational two studios years, drawing conclusions from student feedback gathered via questionnaires focus interviews. The findings suggest that formats need facilitate balance between trusting relationships immersive experiences; effective entail development accessible communication conceptual diagramming linguistic idiom.

Interdisciplinary collaboration is essential for the advance of research. As domain subjects become more and more specialized, researchers need to cross disciplines for insights from peers in other areas to have a broader and deeper understand of a topic at microand macro-levels. We developed a 3D virtual learning environment that served as a platform for faculty to plan curriculum, share educa...
