Leaf and Root Litter Species Identity Influences Bacterial Community Composition in Short-Term Litter Decomposition

چکیده
Microorganisms play a crucial role in litter decomposition terrestrial ecosystems. The leaf and fine root litters of Robinia pseudoacacia Linn., Quercus acutissima Carr., Pinus tabulaeformis Carr. densiflora Sieb. were analysed using the nylon bag method Illumina MiSeq high-throughput sequencing for amplification bacterial 16S rRNA V4–V5. We assessed effects species on community after one year’s decomposition. results showed that (1) remaining mass was smaller than R. Q. acutissima, while opposite result found P. densiflora. (2) structure most highly correlated with initial N content N:P, roots lignin content. (3) phyla Bacteroidetes, Acidobacteria Gemmatimonadetes significantly affected by species, whereas relative abundances Firmicutes Chloroflexi only tissues. Acidobacteria, higher those litter, Bacteroidetes. genera Burkholderia-Paraburkholderia, Sphingomonas Mucilaginibacter tissues (p < 0.05). abundance Burkholderia-Paraburkholderia Bradyrhizobium, Mucilaginibacter. Pearson’s correlation analysis dominant properties, especially Bacteroides, Burkholderia Sphingomonas. These findings indicate their interactions are more important shaping diversity composition, which chemical properties litter.

Leaf Litter Mixtures Alter Microbial Community Development: Mechanisms for Non-Additive Effects in Litter Decomposition
To what extent microbial community composition can explain variability in ecosystem processes remains an open question in ecology. Microbial decomposer communities can change during litter decomposition due to biotic interactions and shifting substrate availability. Though relative abundance of decomposers may change due to mixing leaf litter, linking these shifts to the non-additive patterns o...

15 صفحه اولControls on long-term root and leaf litter decomposition in neotropical forests
Litter decomposition represents one of the largest annual fluxes of carbon (C) from terrestrial ecosystems, particularly for tropical forests, which are generally characterized by high net primary productivity and litter turnover. We used data from the Long-Term Intersite Decomposition Experiment (LIDET) to (1) determine the relative importance of climate and litter quality as predictors of dec...
متن کاملWithin-species variation in foliar chemistry influences leaf-litter decomposition in a Utah river
Leaf-litter inputs provide substrate and energy to stream systems. These contributions vary based on species-specific differences in litter quality, but little is known about how differences in litter quality within a species can affect ecosystem processes. Genetic variation within tree species, such as oaks and cottonwoods, affects ecosystem processes including decomposition and nutrient cycli...
