LC/8YSZ TBCs Thermal Cycling Life and Failure Mechanism under Extreme Temperature Gradients

The purpose of this paper is to study the thermal shock resistance and failure mechanism La2Ce2O7/8YSZ double-ceramic-layer barrier coatings (LC/8YSZ DCL TBCs) under extreme temperature gradients. At high surface temperatures, infrared measuring modules were used determine cycling life insulation LC/8YSZ TBCs gradients by an oxygen–acetylene gas flame testing machine. (2) LC ceramic sintered, higher temperature, faster process. (3) Accelerated test results showed that not only related fatigue layer, but also degree coating. (4) Although had great influence on coating, produced which main cause TBC failure. above indicate for new materials, especially those engines class F, their sinterability should be fully considered.
