چکیده
A new exact solution to the problem of Marangoni layered convection is obtained. This describes a steady-state flow viscous incompressible fluid at varying gradients temperature and pressure. The velocity components depend only on transverse coordinate; pressure fields are three-dimensional. effect observed upper free surface layer. On lower solid layer, three different cases defining boundary conditions considered: no-slip condition, perfect slip condition Navier condition. obtained determined by interaction flows: caused drop (the Poiseuille flow), heating/cooling gravity force thermogravitational tension thermocapillary flow). solutions in case each types specified analyzed detail. It has been proved that, when certain ratios value parameters fulfilled, may acquire stagnation points, this being indicative presence counterflow areas layer under consideration. In particular, up two points longitudinal cause stratification field more than regions. can describe flows thin films through variation geometric anisotropy factor.

Thin Film Traveling Waves and the Navier Slip Condition
We consider the lubrication model for a thin film driven by competing gravitational forces and thermal gradients on an inclined plane. We are interested in the general traveling wave problem when the Navier slip boundary condition is used. We contrast (1) gravity dominated flow, (2) Marangoni dominated flow, and (3) flow in which the two driving effects balance. For a “singular slip” model we s...
متن کاملVorticity layers of the 2D Navier-Stokes equations with a slip type boundary condition
We study the asymptotic behavior, at small viscosity ε, of the NavierStokes equations in a 2D curved domain. The Navier-Stokes equations are supplemented with the slip boundary condition, which is a special case of the Navier friction boundary condition where the friction coefficient is equal to two times the curvature on the boundary. We construct an artificial function, which is called a corr...
متن کاملIntroductory analysis of the Bénard-Marangoni convection
We describe experiments on Bénard-Marangoni convection which permit an useful understanding on the main concepts involved in this phenomenon as, for example, Bénard cells, aspect ratio, Rayleigh and Marangoni numbers, crispation number and critical conditions. In spite of the complexity of the convection theory, this work carries out a simple and introductory analysis of it which has the additi...
متن کاملDouble-Diffusive Natural Convection with Marangoni and Cooling Effects
Double-diffusive natural convection in an open top square cavity and heated from the side is studied numerically. Constant temperatures and concentration are imposed along the right and left walls while the heat balance at the surface is assumed to obey Newton’s law of cooling. The finite difference method is used to solve the dimensionless governing equations. The numerical results are reporte...
متن کاملMarangoni–Bénard Convection with a Deformable Free Surface
Computations of Marangoni convection are usually performed in twoor threedimensional domains with rigid boundaries. In two dimensions, allowing the free surface to deform can result in a solution set with a qualitatively different bifurcation structure. We describe a finite-element technique for calculating bifurcations that arise due to thermal gradients in a two-dimensional domain with a defo...
