Latissimus Dorsi Myocutaneous Flap Reconstruction Post Resection of a Giant Malignant Phyllodes Tumor of the Breast: A Case Report

Phyllodes tumors (PTs) are a rare group of mammary fibroepithelial lesions accounting for up to 1% breast tumors. They display biologic diversity, ranging from benign malignant. PTs the mostly found in females aged 35–55 years and adolescents elderly. usually present as fast growing, painless mass. The treatment choice is complete excision with clear margins. In patients large PTs, reconstruction results better outcome increased satisfaction.Our patient, 39-year-old female presented an enlarging mass over period 6 months. Physical examination showed large, ulcerated involving entire right breast. Histopathology revealed features malignant PT. Total mastectomy immediate pedicled latissimus dorsi myocutaneous flap symmetrization reduction mastopexy left was done. At months, patient has not shown any gross tumor recurrence acceptable cosmesis.
